The boat
Why a salon boat beats a tour boat
The Light Festival is built to be seen from the water — the artworks hang over the canals and are aimed at boats passing underneath. Which is exactly why the big operators run full all winter.
Our salon boats are the opposite of that. Classic wooden boats with low glazed sides, a proper heater and space for eight. You sit around one table, you can hear each other, and the captain slows down where it's worth slowing down.
It works for a date night, a family outing or four friends who'd rather not queue in the cold on the Amstel.
